As a longtime fan of the work of Rachel Eliza Griffiths, I was mesmerized by this conversation between Griffiths and artists/naturalists Tess Taylor, and Elizabeth Bradfield: Rewriting Travel in Poetry and Photographs. Each artist has created work that marries poetry to visual image of place: Bradfield’s Toward Antarctica, Griffith’s Seeing the Body, and Taylor’s Last West. Their conversation asks How do we explore the road with text and image? How do the photographs we use complicate the journeys we make? How can we remake and challenge a genre that has often excluded us?
