I was just writing about "When people show you who they are, believe them" and the video of Oprah and Maya Angelo talking it out: https://www.oprah.com/oprahs-lifeclass/when-people-show-you-who-they-are-believe-them-video.

Most especially in the wake of this political landscape and the SCOTUS decision.

Thank you for these words.

Happy belated birthday! Thank you for writing about your Destroyer. As a new person to an office, I am currently being destroyed by a destroyer. So I especially appreciate the language you have provided me and the lesson you learned from it..

Happy Birthday Elissa. After reading what you have so thoughtfully written, I will eagerly embrace my upcoming Birthday on July 8, when I shall turn 81. Age is just a number.

Happy Birthday, Elissa. I'm sorry about your mother forgetting your birthday. Two years ago, my parents forgot mine (not the first time!) and I was surprised at how much it hurt even though I was turning 42 and have been working on parent issues for years. So, I can understand your hurt. It sucks.

I want to thank you for sharing where you are with open vulnerability and strength. Your are a wonderful writer and I enjoy and learn from your work.

Happiest of birthdays to you! Were I in your immediate physical sphere, I'd bake for you, whatever your delight, savory and sweet alike. I always find resonance in your words, like a cocoon that is familiar and open to my return. Thank you. Add my gratitude for your writing to your list of 'hell yes i move people' on this year's celebration of your birth.
