Join Katherine May and Elissa Altman in Rockport Maine for a day-long retreat, August 8th
On Finding Comfort and Sustenance in Impossible Times
Friends,
I could not be more delighted to share the news that Katherine May, podcaster extraordinaire, author of the wonderful Wintering and Substack writer of Stray Attention, and I will be leading a day-long retreat on August 8th, at Barnswallow Books’ gorgeous barn in Rockport, Maine.
How do we find comfort in impossible times?
Katherine will take participants through a reflective process to explore what homecoming means to them, and Elissa will explore the relationship between comfort and the table, both culturally and historically. Together, they will guide you through a process of rest and renewal in a time when we are craving a sense of belonging and safety more than ever.
This is a workshop for everyone - not just writers.
The workshop will be followed by a light communal supper from 5pm.

This event sounds remarkably like the stuff I write about at my monthly substack newsletter at https://www.comfortfortheapocalypse.com/ - I am such a huge fan of Wintering and a Poor Man's Feast - but alas am far away on the other side of the continent. Such important conversations!
Thank you for the information. This sounds wonderful. Sorry I will not be able to make it as I just turned 81 years of age on 7/8, and am wheelchair bound due to Parkinson's Disease and other issues. Know everyone will have a fantastic time.
